ish Kowloon, and I need not dwell upon the desirability of

providing better means of education than the one small school

conducted in a hired room, which is all that is at present

possessed by Yau-ma-ti. Since the Estimates were forwarded

the tenders for the Opium farm have been received and have

exceeded the Estimate by $378,000. The Quarry farms have also

been disposed of by auction and have realized $15,000 in ex

cess of the Estimate. A surplus of 3393,000 being thus shown

plementary vote of $9,000 for this very necessary work.
